Chief Executive Officer, CapitaLand Commercial
Lynette was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CapitaLand Commercial, a wholly-owned business unit of CapitaLand, with effect from 1 November 2017 to grow a global office operating platform, including capabilities relating to the future of work. Prior to the appointment, Lynette was the CEO and Executive Director of CapitaLand Commercial Trust Management Limited (CCTML) for 10 years. CCTML is the manager of CapitaLand Commercial Trust (CCT), the first and largest commercial real estate investment trust (REIT) listed on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited. Under Lynette's leadership, CCT has solidified its position as the largest office landlord in Singapore. It grew in profitability every year and its portfolio value increased almost threefold to S$10 billion, with a mixed-use development that could add approximately S$2 billion to CCT when completed.
CCT has won multiple awards for excellence in management, corporate governance, investor relations and its annual report. CCT's properties have also won numerous local and international awards for sustainability and design. CCT is included in indices such as MSCI Global Standard Indices, FTSE4Good Index Series and FTSE Straits Times Index, FTSE4Good Asean 5 Index and SGX Sustainability Leaders Index.
Lynette also serves on the boards of Singapore's National Environment Agency, the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce and the advisory board of Singapore Management University's Lee Kong Chian School of Business.
Ms Leong has more than 20 years of international experience, including banking and finance with Standard Chartered Bank and United Malayan Banking Corporation Berhad in Singapore and Malaysia, and real estate fund management in the London, New York, Chicago and Asian offices of LaSalle Investment Management. Prior to joining CCTML, Ms Leong was CEO of Ascenda's South Korea office where she had spearheaded Ascendas' strong foothold in the country's real estate market, including the acquistion of office and logistics properties and the establishment of its first real estate fund.
Lynette holds a Master of Science in Real Estate and a Bachelor of Science degree in Estate Management from the National University of Singapore.
