Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Lee Foundation Landmark Gift to the Lee Kong Chian School of Business
In 2004, the Lee Foundation made a gift of S$50million to the Lee Kong Chian School of Business in support of the school’s mission to create business knowledge, and nurture keen minds to lead organisations and serve society. A decade on, we commemorate “philanthropy’s finest hour”, celebrate the Gift’s far-reaching impact, and pay tribute to one of Singapore’s pioneer businessmen, community leaders, and philanthropists – Dr Lee Kong Chian.
The Landmark Gift
Lee Foundation’s gift of S$50 million to Singapore Management University (SMU) – made in honour of the late Dr Lee Kong Chian, well-known Southeast Asian businessman, philanthropist and community leader – opened a whole new chapter for its School of Business.
Through the years, the School has graduated and conferred 6,000 Bachelor in Business Management degrees and 1,700 postgraduate degrees from more than 10 programmes, including Doctoral programmes.
The Lee Foundation’s gracious gift to the Singapore Management University 10 years ago has come a long way and made a positive impact on many lives.
