A paper on microfinance that was co-authored by Associate Professor of Finance Hao Liang of the Lee Kong Chian School of Business has been listed as being among the top 10 research papers dealing with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The paper, “Globalization and the affordability of microfinance,” was cited in the Financial Times’ Special Report — FT Business Education Research Insights that was published on November 8.
The research paper looks at how globalization can differentially affect financial inclusion through the lens of microfinance. It was published in 2021 in the Journal of Business Venturing. Apart from Associate Professor Liang, the paper was also co-authored by Associate Professor Sunny Li Sun from the Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
The list of the top 10 research papers related to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals was compiled by the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and published as part of the FT Business Education Research Insights special report. This report ranked LKCSB as the top business school in Singapore and the second in Asia in terms of practical research impact.
