Planning for a sustainable city
SYNOPSIS
The city we have today does not happen by chance, but through meticulous planning and implementation. In taking a long-term sustainable planning approach, Singapore currently accommodates more than 5.6 million people on 720 km² of land with a high quality living environment.
The talk will share the planning approach we take in Singapore from the vision set in the Concept Plan, to implementation through the masterplan, and to development coordination and coordination control.
Going forward, planning for a sustainable city remains key, and looking for new solutions and garnering citizens' support are high on the agenda.
