Soon Loo had held senior leadership roles in technology, finance, and government across the Asia Pacific. He previously served as the CEO of the Brunei Economic Development Board, where he led foreign investment, innovation, and national entrepreneurship initiatives. He also served on the APEC Business Advisory Council, which provides policy recommendations to the heads of state and governments of the 21 APEC member economies on economic growth, digital transformation, and SME development.
Soon currently serves as a board member and advisor to pioneering organisations including Mission Holdings and SY Holdings. He was formerly the chairman of a publicly listed real estate company in Asia and a regional vice president at AXA Asia Pacific, where he led strategy and M&A initiatives.
An entrepreneur at heart, Soon co-founded a venture-capital-backed technology startup in Silicon Valley after writing the business plan in his Harvard dorm room. He continues to work closely with founders and early-stage ventures across the region. He has also contributed to entrepreneurship and innovation in university education as an adjunct faculty member in Singapore and an adjunct professor in Brunei. A strong advocate for leadership development, he serves on the global board of the International Coaching Federation, supporting the advancement of the coaching profession worldwide.
Soon holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and recently completed research on AI and coaching at the University of Cambridge. He is based in Singapore.
