Chua Tiow Chye
Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer
Mapletree Investments

Mr Chua, as Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer, focuses on driving the Group’s strategic initiatives including expanding and directing the Mapletree Group’s international real estate investments and developments, as well as driving the private capital management business.

Previously, Mr Chua was Head of the Group’s Global Lodging sector. Before this, he was the Group Chief Investment Officer and Regional Chief Executive Officer of North Asia & New Markets.

Mr Chua concurrently serves as a Non-Executive Director of Mapletree Industrial Trust Management Ltd and MPACT Management Ltd. He was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of Mapletree Logistics Trust Management Ltd. Prior to joining Mapletree in 2002, Mr Chua held senior positions with various companies including Vision Century Corporation Ltd, Ascendas Pte Ltd, Singapore Food Industries Pte Ltd and United Overseas Bank Ltd.

Mr Chua holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Strathclyde and graduated with a Bachelor of Regional and Town Planning (First Class Honours) from the University of Queensland in 1982.

George Agethen

Managing Director, Real Estate, Asia Pacific and Latin America

As Managing Director, Real Estate, Asia Pacific and Latin America, George Agethen is responsible for executing the investment and asset management strategies of La Caisse’s Real Estate portfolio in these two regions.

Mr. Agethen has extensive real estate experience and deep knowledge of the Asian markets. Prior to his appointment, he was Co-head, Asia Pacific at Ivanhoé Cambridge, at that time a subsidiary of La Caisse specialized in real estate. Before joining the organization in 2015, he was Senior Executive Director and Head of Alternative Investments at Ping An Trust, a subsidiary of Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China Ltd., a public company. In that role, he was responsible for establishing a multi-asset real estate portfolio that invests globally. He also served as Executive Director for HREI (a joint venture between Harvest Funds Management and Grosvenor Group) and as Head of Business Development and Capital-raising for Harvest Capital Partners, China’s leading real estate fund managers. He previously served as Vice-President, Private Capital Markets, Real Estate, for Macquarie Capital in Asia. He also spent several years in the real estate sector in Australia.

Mr. Agethen holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Commerce and in Law and a Master’s Degree in Commerce, specializing in Finance, from University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. He is also a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and is a Jury Member for the MIPIM Asia Awards. Over the course of his career, he has lived in Australia, Hong Kong, China and Singapore. He speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Matt Walker
Chief Executive Officer, Student Housing
Mapletree Investments

Mr Walker, as Chief Executive Officer, Student Housing, is responsible for managing and growing the Student Housing business for the Group globally.

Before joining Mapletree, Mr Walker was at CA Ventures for 10 years. Most recently, he held the role of Executive Vice President, where he led the company’s market entry and operations in Europe after a long track record in the United States (US). Prior to this, he spent eight years at a publicly listed student accommodation US REIT. Mr Walker has been directly involved in student accommodation throughout his career in the US, Europe and South America, and has significant experience in operational and financial performance in high-growth environments.

Mr Walker holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Honors) from the University of Oklahoma in Political Science and a Master of Business Administration (Real Estate) from Texas Christian University - M.J. Neeley School of Business, where he was a Neeley Scholar.

Joy Wang
Head, ASEAN Equity Research and ASEAN Property
HSBC Bank

Joy Wang is Head of ASEAN Equity Research and covers the ASEAN property sector. She joined HSBC in April 2020. Prior to HSBC, Joy worked for 15 years at international banks, covering the property sector in Asia Pacific and serving as head of Singapore and Malaysia equity research. Joy holds a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Melbourne.

Ashley Wee

Ashley’s capabilities include Investment Sales (capital markets) in the major cities of Asia Pacific with proven track record. This includes acquisition of hotels, residential apartments, shopping centres, office buildings, development land, etc. Ashley is also well experienced in corporate advisory where he has represented and advised numerous international companies such as United States Government, TPG Capital, Dow Jones, Amazon, Meta, etc. 

He has extensive regional experience, travelled frequently and executes various assignments throughout Asia Pacific. Ashley is currently active with business development and transaction work within Asia including China, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia as well as overseeing the growth of the VestAsia Group of companies.

Frank Ng
Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer

Frank is the co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of EZA Hill. Prior to joining EZA Hill, he was the Portfolio Manager and Head of Transactions at PGIM Real Estate from 2018-2022 where he oversaw the value-added fund series and led the transactions deal teams covering Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and South Korea. Before PGIM, Frank was co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Viva Industrial Trust, a Singapore-listed REIT that merged with ESR-REIT in 2018.Frank graduated from Princeton University with a B.A. in Economics.

Han Khim Siew

Mr Han Khim Siew is the CEO of the Manager of OUE REIT, where he is responsible for strategic management, growth and operations. He works with the Board of the Manager to determine OUE REIT’s business strategies and plans, and the management team to ensure that these strategies are executed accordingly.  

Mr Han has over 26 years of diverse international experience having worked in Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam spanning government, private equity, private equity real estate and real estate advisory in Asia Pacific, Africa & Europe.

His previous role was as Managing Director and Co-Head of BNP Paribas Real Estate Asia Pacific. Prior to joining BNP Paribas Real Estate in 2013, Mr Han was Head of Investments at Jones Lang LaSalle Indonesia. He started his career in the Ministry of Finance and Prime Minister’s Office, Government of Brunei Darussalam. Between 1997 - 1999, he also served on the board of COMAFIN, a pan-African private equity fund.

Michelle Ling

Private Capital Management
Mapletree Investments

Ms Ling, as Chief Executive Officer, Private Capital Management, is responsible for managing and growing the private fund business of the Mapletree Group as well as the development of new business initiatives. She manages the Group’s stakeholder relationships with investors as well as capital partners, enabling Mapletree to scale its capital management platform globally.

Ms Ling has two decades of real estate investment banking experience across Asia. Prior to joining Mapletree, she was with Goldman Sachs as Managing Director, Southeast Asia Investment Banking. She was responsible for capital raising and client advisory, as well as real estate transactions across Asia, including the significant transactions undertaken by the Group as well as the various Mapletree-listed REITs.

Ms Ling began her career with the UBS Real Estate Investment Banking team in Hong Kong SAR. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Real Estate from NUS.
