Edward Ng

A PhD in Finance, Edward founded and runs Dren Analytics Pte Ltd which develops risk management applications solutions for and provides consulting services to credit institutions according to the Basel II framework. Prior to this, he has been a tenured faculty of the NUS Business School for nearly twenty years, teaching and researching in banking and financial markets.

Edward has conducted numerous seminars and paid workshops on Basel II related topics including Challenges in Basel II Implementation, Stress Testing, Credit Scoring etc. His views on the prerequisites for Basel II implementation have been taken into consideration by the Central Bank of Thailand which he is a consultant for. He is completing a IRB system approval manual to guide bank examiners on how to certify a bank for FIRB or AIRB. His expertise has been contributed to agencies like the United Nations, Pacific Economic Cooperation Council, ASEAN Business Forum etc. and he has consulted for a range of clients including Citibank, Asian Development Bank, Marketing Institute of Singapore, Singapore Computer Systems and SPSS etc. As an academic, Edward has published in international journals including Journal of Finance, Global Finance Journal, Asia Pacific Journal of Management etc. He has also served on the editorial board of several journals and conducted executive training in both English and Chinese for banks in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and China.
