Kathy Zhang

Kathy is a self-made entrepreneur who co-founded Financial PR group 21 years ago in Singapore. Financial PR group (www.financialpr.com.sg ; www.merlionpr.com) has grown into a regional investor relations agency with over 100 employees in Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and 250 retainer and IPO clients listed on China A-shares market, Hong Kong and Singapore stock exchanges. Kathy and her co-author in CSCR published a book called 《成就千亿市值-市值管理与投关指南》in 2021 on strategic investor relations with 40 case studies.

As an entrepreneur, Kathy had successfully raised US$1 million VC funding from the largest Internet VC in Germany in 2000; and she had successfully led Financial PR group to raise two rounds of PE funding from BlueFocus Communications (300058.SZ), a Chi-Next listed company in China between 2011 to 2015.

As a strategic PE investor, Kathy had led Financial PR to acquire her largest peer in China in 2014 through a unique deal structure; and subsequently raised US$17 million at IPO in 2016. As an angel investor and an LP, Kathy has participated in several PE VC investments, including XtalPi, an intelligent digital drug discovery platform’s Series C round of US$319 million in 2020.

Education:

• Studied Pharmacy at Peking Medical University, China;
• Obtained Applied B.SC in Chemistry from University of Calgary, Canada;
• Obtained EMBA from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, USA;
• Completed Executive Program in Stanford University, Stanford Alumni;
• Enrolled Doctorate of Business Administration program with SMU since August 2021, research interest: sustainable finance
