The Editorialge featured SMU Assistant Professor of Finance (Education) Aurobindo Ghosh, whose work over the past two decades has helped strengthen Singapore’s financial literacy landscape. After moving to Singapore 23 years ago, he joined SMU, bringing along a global perspective and a deep desire to give back, focusing on the human impact of financial literacy in Singapore. At SMU, he conceptualised the DBS–SKBI Singapore Index of Inflation Expectations (SInDEx) Project, and collaborated with the Monetary Authority of Singapore and DBS to create a way to measure public sentiment and provide policymakers with a window into the public psyche. Asst Prof Ghosh is the Founding Director of the SMU Financial Literacy, Inclusion and Technology (FinLIT) Programme and the Inclusive and Immersive Experiential Learning (I2XL) Programme, raising over $6 million for research and outreach and reaching over 100,000 people. He also serves as the Secretary of the SMU Faculty Senate, teaches Corporate Finance and Applied Econometrics, and continues to innovate at SMU, empowering young adults and preparing the next generation of scholars.
