The Executive-In-Residence (EIR) is poised to play a vital role in forging connections between academia and industry, enhancing the educational journey for students, and bolstering the overall success and relevance of the business school. This influential role encompasses offering strategic guidance, mentorship, and sharing invaluable industry expertise with our school community. The principal aim is to harness the EIR's wealth of experience and expansive network to actively contribute to the organization's growth and success.
Role of the Executive-In-Residence
Mentorship and Guidance
Provide mentorship to students, offering insights and guidance based on practical industry experience. Assist students in career development, helping them navigate the professional landscape.
Industry Networking
Foster relationships between the university and industry stakeholders. Faciliate networking opportunities for students, faculty, and other professionals.
Guest Lectures and Workshops
Deliver guest lectures and workshops to share industry knowledge with students. Bring real-world case studies and examples into the classroom.
Curriculum Development
Collaborate with faculty to integrate practical, industry-relevant content into the curriculum. Provide input on emerging trends and skills required in the business world.
Research Collaboration
Potentially engage in collaborative research projects with faculty members. Contribute to the development of research initiatives that bridge academic and industry perspectives.
Innovation and Thought Leadership
Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations, providng guidance on how the organization can remain competitive. Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, including articles, white papers, and presentations.

Terms of Reference
The Strategy and Advisory Board of the Lee Kong Chian School of Business provides advice to the School regarding its strategy, portfolio of academic programmes of study, and related matters and activities.
The academic programmes in the School include degrees offered at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as executive education activities.
Related matters and activities may include curriculum development, internships, scholarships, international student exchange programmes, fund-raising and alumni development, international profile raising and reputation building.
Role of the Board
- To advise the School and the Dean on its strategic plan and positioning, and in designing the appropriate portfolio of academic programmes.
- To provide insights on business issues and concerns, as well as any new courses and programmes the School may offer.
- To assist in securing student internships and building strong linkages with business, industry and government, both locally and overseas.
- To create awareness of the School's graduates and provide feedback to them, including their general attributes, suitability for employment and work performance, compared with graduates of other universities.
- To promote an alumni board to link graduates with the long-term objectives of the School.
- To generate opportunities for research and other forms of collaborative work between faculty members, the business community and government agencies.
- To open doors for business, industry and government professionals to participate in and teach at the School, including adjunct teaching responsibilities.
- To catalyse the receipt of gifts and financial support for the School.
